Description

Pack of 50 high quality 2mm x 16mm black round head Phillips miniature screws which are ideal for securely fixing model railway track to wooden baseboards.

These track fixing screws are suitable for use with most popular model railway track systems, including OO gauge, HO gauge, N gauge and similar scales.

The low-profile round heads are designed to sit neatly within or alongside sleepers, helping to prevent damage while maintaining a discreet appearance.

The blackened finish helps the screws blend in with the track, reducing their visual impact and improving the overall realism of your layout.

For best results, we recommend drilling small pilot holes into the baseboard before installation. This reduces the risk of splitting the wood and prevents the screws from snapping during fitting. Where required, lightly opening out the sleeper holes can also help avoid stressing or damaging the plastic track base.

These self-tapping screws provide a strong and reliable fixing solution, making them ideal for both permanent layouts and temporary track positioning during testing and planning.

Choosing the Right Screw Size

Selecting the correct screw size is important to ensure a secure fixing without damaging your track or baseboard.

OO / HO Gauge: 12mm to 16mm length screws are typically ideal, providing good grip in standard wooden baseboards without protruding underneath.

N Gauge: Shorter screws (8mm to 12mm) are often more suitable due to smaller sleeper size and lower profile track.

Larger Scales (O Gauge and above): Longer screws may be required depending on baseboard thickness and track construction.

Always ensure the screw length is appropriate for your baseboard thickness to avoid breakthrough. If using thinner boards, consider shorter screws or pre-checking depth before installation.

If in doubt, test on a spare piece of material before fixing your track in place.

VAT on our prices

UK Customers - For UK customers receiving deliveries at UK postal addresses, our prices will include UK VAT at 20% by default, where applicable.

Non UK Customers - If you are having products delivered to an address outside the UK, you will not be subject to the 20% VAT (UK Sales Tax). Therefore, divide the GBP price displayed on our product listings by 1.2 (£120.00 ÷ 1.2 = £100.00 export price).

Once you have registered an account and logged in, the basket price will automatically remove the UK Sales Tax.

Any invoice or emails that you receive from the website will show zero UK sales tax, and will show any tax percentage as Zero.

Returns

We have a 14-day return policy. Contact us by email or phone before returning any items.

Items must be returned within 14 days of receipt in their original condition for a refund, which will be processed within 14 working days.

Returns after 14 days for unwanted, incorrectly ordered, or unauthorized items may incur a restocking fee of 20% of the product price.

For damaged or faulty goods, contact us within 48 hours for further instructions.
