Coronavirus Pandemic Changes

The current situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is no doubt causing a great deal of concern and affecting the daily lives of all of us. Here at Railwayscenics, we are working as near to normal as possible to dispatch orders as quickly as we can, but due to the increase of the number of orders, there may be a short delay to some orders being dispatched. We are also treating all orders on a first come first served basis which seems the fairest way of doing things. We really appreciate your patience and understanding at this worrying time. We will update you with an email once your order has been posted with any tracking or delivery information if we have it, and you have paid for a service where it is available.

The safety and protection of ourselves as a family, and that of our delivery partners and customers is of huge importance to us, and is a high priority. We do not want to be responsible for spreading covid-19 to key workers who have to work. We are therefore closely monitoring government guidelines and have increased cleaning and hygiene awareness throughout the storage and office spaces here at Railwayscenics to reduce those risks.

We are checking the stock status of our suppliers daily, and so far orders can still be placed and stock delivery times are still next day, but that may change. Some stock items may be harder to get now, but we are doing our best to keep levels of stocks as normal as possible. Our website shows stock levels and these in most cases are accurate, but if an item is not held in the quantity that the website says, we will let you know by email.

We have cancelled our daily order cut-off time, and will now just pick and pack as many orders when we can before we have to take them to the post office by 3.50pm at the very latest. This is impacting the posting times of parcels in some cases by a day or more due to the increased work load, and the slower picking and packing times because of the safety and hygiene measurers we have implemented.

Our delivery partners Royal Mail, UPS and Hermes are all maintaining services as near normal as possible. Royal mail  are currently subject to some long delays, meaning parcels continue to be despatched, but there may be a delivery delay of up to 10 to 15 working days. Please do be aware that in some circumstances items may take this long to arrive. Royal mail have cancelled some Saturday deliveries due to their workload so if you want something for the weekend order early. They are also no longer guaranteeing delivery times for all Special Delivery services. The before 12-00pm service is now a before 9-00pm service on the next working day if possible. Royal Mail have also changed the way they will hand over any Signed For or large parcels, so please bear with your local post person as they are working in a very difficult situation and are only following common sense rules.

We are also aware that some countries may have imposed restrictions on incoming mail, so please check with your local mail service before ordering as we cannot be held responsible for any delivery delays.

Please consider others when placing any orders on this website during this lock down period, and think about whether the items you need are actually essential, and worth increasing the risks to the health and lives of others, and potentially spreading this deadly virus. The last thing I want to do is to infect my family for a non important item that someone wants or thinks is important.
