Description

4700uf 25v keep alive capacitor kit of components to make a basic stay alive unit for use with DCC operated locomotives. Can be used for sound, lighting and motor circuits.

This kit makes up a stay alive, or keep alive, unit that can be used on most DCC chips. This unit will give a very small extra burst of power should there be a small break in the power supply. Do not expect miraculous running with these units fitted.

You will be required to solder the components following the illustration supplied and to apply gentle heat to shrink the wrapping.

Replacement parts are all available elsewhere on this website.

Safety information (Please read before adding any files to your basket)

This item includes basic assembly wiring information. You will be required to find the correct places to solder the blue and black wires on your chosen decoder if the decoder does not come with flying leads already fitted, as all decoders are different.

Railwayscenics will not be held responsible for any damage to decoders or associated parts.

These units will not remove problems when running over poorly laid track, dirty tracks or poorly maintained locos.

There is a very good website here with lots of information about stay alive and fitting, and also on the Mark Gurries site here.

Delivery Options

Please be aware that there may be import duties/taxes on orders you receive if you are ordering from outside of the UK. Unfortunately we cannot advise how much these charges will be.

Where possible all orders placed by 09-00am on a working day, will be packed and posted that same day. If this is not possible then items will be posted the following working day. In any event all orders will be posted within 5 working days. Working days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We do not post items out on weekends.

All of our shipping costs are calculated dynamically based on your basket content weight. Therefore as you add or remove products from your basket, the delivery charge and the delivery methods available will automatically update. We believe that this is the fairest way to calculate postage and packaging costs. Postage and packaging costs start from as little as £ 2.35, and then increase dependent on the weight as set by Royal Mail.

We offer a wide range of delivery options from Royal Mail, and a Courier. Signatures will be required on some delivery options but this is mentioned in the checkout system.

Once your items have been posted we will send a confirmation email to your registered email address. If there is any, tracking information will also be included.

Full UK shipping terms can be found on our UK shipping page and International shipping terms can be found at our International shipping page.
